As I was painting this little fella the trees finished dropping most of their leaves and the snow began to fall in Northern Minnesota. As I type this I can see an inch and a half of snow collected on the ground and blanketing the trees in a powdery coat. The bright red of the apple began to feel a little out of place against the bright red of the snow 🍎 But you know me, I love a cute critter whether it is seasonally appropriate or not. In a more typical year I think the snow wouldn’t have collected so quickly but that’s OK. I love the snow. I also love the fall and the summer and the spring! There is just nothing that beats a balanced year – especially in my beloved Minnesota. If the bugs don’t keep you humble then the large snow piles and -40° temps will.
This 6”x6” acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas piece is available (gallery wrapped canvas means the sides are painted and the piece is ready to hang, unframed, when it arrives at your door). If you know someone who loves raccoons or you are thinking about a gift you may want to give this year you should definitely check it out.
